WATER OFF
Schedule your irrigation blowout to avoid freeze issues.
Thank you to our volunteers Darrell Loveland, Mel Stockwell, Richard Arce, Gary Bruin, Tom & Kathleen Carroll and Sylvester Speath for helping shut down the system this year!
Orchard Valley Subdivision Irrigation
Our subdivision's irrigation water comes from the Grand Valley Canal. This system provides water for most irrigation in the entire Grand Valley. Our neighborhood system runs from a pump house located at our pond.
REMINDER: There is controlled access to the pond which is limited to maintenance.
The pump has undergone several upgrades over the past few years to try and make it more efficient. This year the pump will run from 6am-10am and 6pm-10pm. In the future the watering schedule could become more strict due to drought conditions. These issues are discussed at our annual board meeting and future changes will be communicated to homeowners. Typical watering months run from April to October depending on weather. Click the link below for more info on the City irrigation.
Best Practices
Fruita is located in a high desert climate. Often in the summers the daytime temperature can reach close to 100 degrees. In order to be conscious of this precious resource, we encourage homeowners to follow these best practices for watering your lawn.
